TERRIE HARMAN
Terrie's clients include consumers and businesses who confront issues where money and finance intersect the law. Her practice areas include: foreclosure avoidance, bankruptcy litigation, bankruptcy avoidance and non-bankruptcy financial workout. She also represents clients in Internal Revenue Service and state taxation issues including disputes, litigation, and tax workout. Unfair debt collection, consumer rights, foreclosure defense and litigation, probate litigation, guardianship and conservatorship, debt management and workout are other areas of practice.
In bankruptcy matters, she represents consumers and businesses in various Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proceedings. She is a former Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee and has lectured to various legal, accounting, banking, and community organizations.
Terrie represents clients who have not filed federal and state tax returns and she provides solutions to seemingly unmanageable tax obligations including controversies with the Internal Revenue Service.
Terrie is active with probate and estate administration matters, including Probate litigation. She has served as a commissioner of insolvent estates in probate court and she represents family members and parties in trust disputes and will contests, and has provided assistance to clients seeking partition of real estate which is co-owned by more than one person or entity.
Recently, she represented an individual who challenged the constitutionality of the New Hampshire Foreclosure Statute by appealing to the New Hampshire Supreme Court. Prior to that, she filed papers in the United State Supreme Court on behalf of an indigent woman who claimed that the United States Government had violated her rights after she received a bankruptcy discharge.
Terrie is licensed in New Hampshire and Maine, and is admitted to Federal and State Courts in both states as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals (Boston, Massachusetts), and the United States Supreme Court, Washington, D.C.
